Manoein Changes Creative Industries Evaluation from Judging to Mentoring
Isfahan – The head of the Manoein National Creative Industries Event said: In the evaluation process of this event, we tried to move away from pure judgment and, by relying on mentoring, provide the opportunity to complete documentation.
According to Mehr reporter, Abdul Hassan Bahrami said at the closing ceremony of the first national event of Manween creative industries in Isfahan on Thursday afternoon: This event was formed with the aim of creating a new beginning for the creative industries of the country and an effort was made to provide a platform for the synergy of the scattered capacities of this field with the participation of responsible institutions, innovation ecosystem activists, entrepreneurs and the private sector.
He added: "The first national event of creative industries in Manvin was held by the efforts of the presidential vice president for science, technology and knowledge-based economy, and this experience showed that the development of creative industries will not achieve the desired result without cooperation between the institutions in charge, the private sector, and specialized activists."
Registration of 495 projects in the first national event of creative industries
The head of the national creative industries event, Manvin, explained the statistics of participation in this event and said: since the beginning of the process in May to July 11, a total of 495 registrations were made and due to the reception of creative companies from different parts of the country, the call was extended in two stages.
Bahrami continued: The project evaluation process began with the participation of 53 evaluators from among science and technology park experts, creative industries ecosystem activists, and officials of working groups and specialized tables. Also, about 15% of the judgments were reviewed two to three times for more certainty.
Referring to the role of expert consulting in improving the quality of evaluations, he said: During this process, 295 expert mentoring sessions were held in person and online so that the participants could better identify the strengths and weaknesses of their business in addition to presenting their ideas and products.
131 companies participated in the process of mentoring and expert evaluation
Referring to the participation of companies in the specialized stages of this event, the head of the national event of creative industries, Manvin, said: among the 143 companies that were invited to participate in this stage, 131 companies participated in the evaluation and mentoring process, and on average, about two and a half mentoring sessions were considered for each company.
Bahrami added: Expert consultations were conducted in areas such as domestic and export market development, business model design, product design and development, product presentation and narration about it, so that the evaluation of the companies is not limited to examining the current state of the products and their development and commercialization capacity is also taken into consideration.
Referring to the holding of face-to-face evaluations for the winners, he said: In the final days of the event, about 1,700 minutes of face-to-face evaluations were conducted to check the designs and products of the participants more carefully.
Changing the approach from mere judging to evaluation and mentoring
Bahrami considered one of Manvin's important features to be the change of approach in the process of reviewing projects and stated: We tried to move the judging process from mere judgment to evaluation based on mentoring; This means that if a product had a suitable capacity but its documentation was not fully loaded, another opportunity would be provided to complete the information and check it more closely.
He added: This approach was followed with the aim of reaching more accurate choices and better identification of the real capacities of creative companies, so that a defect in documentation does not prevent the potential of a product or idea from being seen.
Manvin should be connected to the market development path of creative businesses
Emphasizing the necessity of continuing this movement after the closing ceremony, Manvin's responsibility does not end with the end of this event and the future vision is to strengthen the bond between idea owners, responsible institutions, economic operators, investors and specialized groups to create real opportunities for market development.
Bahrami pointed out: the growth path of creative businesses will not be easy without continuous support, access to the market and cooperation between different sectors. Manvin alone cannot remove all the obstacles on this path, but it can be the foundation for cooperation that makes the development of these businesses smoother.
Referring to the place of creative industries in the future of the country's economy, he said: This field is on the threshold of a historical turn, and in order to overcome the years of stagnation and reach a new stage of growth, the creative capacities of the country must be used in the form of effective and continuous cooperation.
The first national event of Manvin creative industries with the aim of identifying and evaluating the capacities of creative businesses and strengthening the relationship between idea makers, companies and market development opportunities ended with the closing ceremony in Isfahan.
