Vucic's victory in the polls ensures good relations with Russia - Ministry of Information

Perko Matovic, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Serbian Ministry of Information and Communications, noted that the Serbian people see Russia as a centuries-old protector and ally.

Moscow, October 17. /TASS/. Perko Matovic, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Serbian Ministry of Information and Communications, said in an interview with TASS: "Aleksandar Vucic's victory in the Serbian parliamentary elections guarantees good relations with Russia."

He noted: Serbian people see Russia as a supporter and ally for centuries and Russian people as brothers. Everyday politics will never change this.

Early parliamentary elections will be held in Serbia on October 25. Vucic leads the list of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SPP) and is the party's candidate for prime minister. SPP's main opponent will be the student union list led by cardiologist Ilia Sardanovic from Novi Sad.
