Gorgan – Golestan Governor, stressing that managers must respond to public demands, said executive agency managers should make selfless service a priority in their programs through field presence.

Referring to the heavy rains on the 18th and 19th of October in Golestan, especially Minodasht city, Golestan Governor added: Before the rains started, governors, prefects, members of the crisis management staff and service agencies were on full alert, and some officials were also present in high-risk areas before the accident and took action to move people away from the banks of rivers and accident-prone areas.
He stated that during the recent rains, managers of various cities such as Minodasht, Azadshahr, Ramian, Gonbadkavos, Aliabadkatol and Gorgan were present in the square, and he clarified: the presence of the officials with the people, even in situations where it is not possible to completely prevent the incident, encourages the citizens and shows that the managers consider themselves responsible for the problems of the people.
Referring to the 268 mm rainfall in April of this year in the province, Tahmasabi said: If preparations and preventive measures were not taken, there was a possibility of repeating the bitter events of 2018. Therefore, the executive bodies should minimize the damages caused by natural disasters by careful planning, interdepartmental coordination and using existing capacities.
He also pointed to the death of two people in the recent flood incidents and emphasized the need to increase public awareness and said: These people were from our fellow provinces and we should not allow such bitter incidents to be repeated. It is a serious task for managers and media to continuously inform about the dangers of floods, stay away from the banks of rivers and avoid traveling on dangerous routes.
The necessity of preparing devices for autumn rains
Governor of Golestan, warning about the possibility of early rains and climate changes this fall, asked the managers of the executive bodies to use all information capacities to inform the people.
Tahmasabi added: The public relations of the institutions, local media, radio and television and cyber space activists should inform the people about the possible dangers with accurate and timely information in order to prevent the occurrence of life and financial losses.
Emphasizing that prevention is always cheaper than compensation, Tahmasabi noted: the more preventive measures and public information are strengthened, the amount of damages and costs caused by accidents will also decrease.
Do not refer people's problems to others
In another part of his speech, he considered providing good service and responding to people's demands as the most important duty of administrators and said: "People do not expect much from officials, and sometimes a citizen's problem can be solved with minimal cost and little attention."
Referring to his experience of public meetings with the people, Golestan Governor stated: Managers should be personally accountable to the people, listen to their words and follow up the problems as much as possible at the first stage. People's issues should not be referred to others unnecessarily.
Tahmasabi added: Even if the solution to a problem is not in the direct power of a manager, he should explain the issue to the people with patience and respect and determine the path to pursue it. Above all, people expect officials to be by their side and convey hope and peace to the society with proper behavior.
Referring to the economic pressures and the increase in household living costs, he emphasized: We must understand the difficult economic conditions and existing limitations and be careful not to add to people's problems with our behavior and speech.
Governor's emphasis on unity and avoiding media marginalization
Pointing to the necessity of maintaining unity in the current situation of the country, Governor of Golestan asked the managers to be more careful in their speech and behavior and to avoid any ill-considered comments that can provide a basis for the enemy's abuse.
Emphasizing the importance of narrative management in the media environment, he said: "The enemy in the hybrid, cognitive and media war seeks to create differences and weaken social cohesion; therefore, managers must ensure the accuracy of information before publishing content, and in case of false information being published, act to correct it quickly and transparently."
Tahmasabi stated: The publication of a false news can have wide-ranging effects on the society, and its correction cannot always completely destroy the initial effects; Therefore, today more than ever, we need unity, agreement and cohesion.
Referring to the holding of programs related to the meeting of 4,000 martyrs of Golestan province, he considered these events as an opportunity to explain the achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran and explain the measures taken in difficult economic conditions and sanctions.
