Anti-Iran Allegations by MI5 Chief
The head of Britain's domestic intelligence service (MI5) once again repeated his claims against Tehran.
On Tuesday (October 21, 1405), in his annual speech at the headquarters of the British Internal Intelligence Organization in London, Ken McCallum claimed that Iran has expanded the scope of its activities in this country and is seeking to target military centers.
According to Ambassador Arjan, at the same time, he admitted that he cannot comment on the details of the mentioned cases due to the ongoing investigation and the need to avoid influencing the judicial process.
The head of MI5 also claimed that activities attributed to Iran in the past 12 months have led to the arrest of more than 50 people in England. Without providing documented details about the connection of these people with Iran, he once again raised accusations about Tehran's involvement in subversive actions against some centers in England and other European countries.
In another part of his speech, McCallum mentioned the Farford Air Base case and claimed that this case is not an exceptional case and that there have been other examples. However, he emphasized that the investigation of this case is still ongoing and refused to provide more information.
Ali Mousavi, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in London, on Monday, in a meeting with British Deputy Foreign Minister Stephen Doughty, categorically denied any role of Iran in the Farford case and asked the British side to refrain from making unsupported and unsubstantiated statements. He also announced Tehran's readiness to cooperate in the process of investigating this incident
