Electricity Restrictions on Industries Reduced

The Deputy Minister for Electricity and Energy at the Ministry of Energy announced the complete removal of electricity restrictions on small industries and micro-producers.

According to ambassador Arjan; Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi, Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy of the Ministry of Energy and spokesman for the electricity industry, emphasized the support policy of the Ministry of Energy for the country's production and employment sectors, and explained the new details of how to supply electricity to industries in the period of consumption management.

Referring to the government's supportive approach to support small industries, he said: In order to support small and medium producers, it was decided that the electricity of all industrial towns and industries with a demand of less than 2 megawatts will be fully supplied by the electricity distribution companies without applying any restrictions so that the production process in these units will not be disturbed.

The spokesperson of the electricity industry also clarified regarding the electricity supply situation of large and energy-intensive industries: industries above 2 megawatts, which are shared with electricity distribution companies, as well as metal industries (copper, aluminum, steel, and ferroalloy) and petrochemical industries, which are considered to be shared with regional power companies, can supply their electricity needs without restrictions between 10:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m.

Referring to the special arrangements for strategic industries, Rajabi Mashhadi added: Also, in order to continue the production of key products, until the restrictions are completely removed, the slab producing industries should be supplied with electricity with the priority set by the Ministry of Safety.

In the final part of his speech, the deputy minister of electricity and energy noted: Large industries can benefit from the transparent and competitive mechanisms of the energy exchange to supply electricity in excess of their assigned quota. These industries can fully remove possible restrictions by purchasing electricity from "Tablo Sabz", "Tablo Azad" as well as buying "savings certificates" and using the capacity of power plants in Article 4 of the law on removing obstacles to the development of the electricity industry.
