VisionQuest fans think the MCU show is hiding a major character right under their noses

VisionQuest watchers believe they have spotted another major MCU character in the first episode of the new series.

VisionQuest watchers believe they have spotted another major MCU character in the first episode of the new series.

Paul Bettany resurfaced as The Vision earlier this week when the standalone Disney+ series premiered its first two episodes. Although Tony Stark's familiar AI bots such as Jarvis (James Darcy), Edith (Emily Hampshire) and even Ultron (James Spader) are currently keeping the hero company in his troubled mind, some fans believe that VisionQuest has landed another big name from the WandaVision trilogy.

Warning! Potential spoilers for VisionQuest follow.

That character is none other than Wanda and Vision's wizard son, Billy Maximoff, aka Wiccan. Played by Heartstopper Joe Locke in the 2024 Marvel series Agatha All Along, Eagle-Eye viewers believe the character made his first appearance in the closing moments of the first episode of Vision. If it really is him and he has slipped up, don't be too hard on yourself. It's more of a blink-and-you'll-miss-it than an outright revelation.

After VisionQuest sets up White Vision's struggle with his identity, the first episode spends some time introducing another new face to a character we've already met. Wanda and Vision's other child, Tommy, appears to be alive after possessing the body of another human (played by Royaed Mullica). However, instead of joining reality outside Westview like his brother, Billy, Tommy lives his life as a pickpocket in London.

If fans doubt it, Bailey is well aware of his brother's whereabouts. After Tommy pulls off a small heist at the end of Episode 1, someone with a familiar hairstyle is seen walking through the crowd. Then, when Tommy meets his accomplice, Lisa (Lauren Morais), later on the road, the same person is seen again, but this time, they're in a completely different situation.

Could this be an extra or a minor continuity error, or is this actually our first look at Wiccan's return at the end of the WandaVision trilogy? That's something fans are trying to figure out, but given that the MCU is known for dropping the occasional Easter egg and visual gimmick, many viewers wouldn't be surprised if this is our first hint at a family reunion.

Streets say Billy is stalking Tommy... ugh, WandaVision level hallucinations. We are back! #VisionQuest

The return of Wiccan is something fans have been waiting for in the weeks leading up to VisionQuest's premiere. Aside from the fact that the series, which happens to be the last show before Avengers: Doomsday, marks the beginning of the end of the Multiverse saga this December, offering a chance to reunite the Marvel powerhouse family, one of the recent trailers may contain another hint of a Wiccan return. However, the most embarrassing evidence of her role on the show is the fact that Mullika admitted that she and Locke filmed some scenes together during an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

"It was amazing," actor Tommy said of working with Locke on VisionQuest. "We actually shot our MCU stuff before the [Clarkston] show, which was amazing. We met for a coffee beforehand and were so excited. We became good friends immediately and then we did a play together in the West End and we had this big secret that slowly started to unravel as we did it."

Well, it looks like everything is there now, but we'll have to wait and see if the mysterious figure shown in episode 1 was actually secretly Wiccan. Until then, VisionQuest episodes will be released weekly. We will have two episodes each week until the penultimate episode arrives on November 3rd. The finale, Episode 8: "Forever," will then air on November 10.
