According to a new report, The Brave and the Bold, Batman's project in DC's new cinematic universe, may enter production in late 2027. However, there is still no official news about the filming start date or the film's final status.
A new report suggests that The Brave and the Bold, Batman's new DC Cinematic Universe project, may enter production as late as 2027. However, there is still no official news about the start of filming or the final status of the director.
According to a new report from the ComicBookMovie website, The Brave and the Bold may be entering production sooner than previously thought. This report, citing information published by the AtlantaDCFans account, claims that DC Studio plans to start production of the new Batman movie by the end of 2027. It is stated in this report that the studio is very cautious in dealing with the character of Batman and is aware of the importance of this hero for the future of the new DC cinematic universe. However, the news of a 2027 production start is still an unofficial report and DC Studios has yet to confirm it.
Jeff Snyder, a reporter in the field of cinema, also said in the latest episode of The Hot Mic program that what he heard shows that The Brave and the Bold project has gone through more advanced stages than what is thought and that it is possible that its production will start next year. Of course, he emphasized that he does not know if Andy Muschietti will continue to direct the film or if James Gunn will direct it personally.
Snyder has also suggested that the news about the second season of the Welcome to Derry series and Moschitti's future plans will lead to the official announcement of his cooperation with this project; An issue that remains speculative for now. The Brave and the Bold was announced in January 2023 as part of the initial schedule for the new DC Cinematic Universe. This work is supposed to introduce a new Batman to this cinematic world; A character that will be different from Robert Pattinson's version in The Batman series and will be part of the shared story of DC heroes.
According to initial descriptions from DC Studios executives James Gunn and Peter Safran, the film's story will focus on Batman's relationship with his son, Damian Wayne. Damien, who is one of the important characters in Batman comic stories, is introduced in this narrative as the real son of Bruce Wayne; A boy who was unaware of his father's identity in the first years of his life and grew up under the strict training of a murderer. Other members of the Bat-Family are also expected to appear in the film.
On the other hand, there have been rumors about the new age of Batman. There has been some speculation that the new DC Cinematic Universe version of Bruce Wayne may be older than expected. In an interview in 2025, when asked about Batman's age and its connection to the presence of Damian Wayne, Gunn refused to confirm this hypothesis, saying that the details of the story and the family circumstances of the characters were still being changed. He also did not give a definite answer about the possibility of Damien Wayne appearing in the film and emphasized that the audience should wait to know the details of the story. So, while the general idea of the film is clear, not much information about the cast, final story and production details has been released yet.
The production start date of The Brave and the Bold has not been officially announced yet; Unofficial reports suggest that production may begin in late 2027.
