Minodasht- The governor of Minodasht announced that 200 houses were damaged and roads were cut off in 20 villages of this city in the recent flood.

According to Mehr reporter, Alireza Mostafa Lo, in a conversation with reporters on Monday morning, referring to Minodasht's unprecedented rains, said: "The heavy rains of the 18th of this month in Minodasht city, which reached 147 mm in some places, including Qala Kafeh, 120 mm in Sasang, and 96 mm in Dozin, led to floods and caused considerable damage to different parts of this city."

He stated that this amount of rainfall has been unprecedented in the past few years, and added: Following this flood, the communication route of 20 villages of the city was cut off, and with the follow-up of the General Directorate of Roads, the route of 6 villages has been reopened. However, 14 villages along the route of Ghale Kafe village are still facing the main road cut off, and their reopening is the first priority of the city's crisis management.

Governor Minodasht continued: In the field of urban and rural services, it was reported that 20 villages were cut off, of which 18 villages have been connected and the remaining 2 villages will be electrified by the end of today. In the field of water and sewage, 9 villages out of 18 affected villages have been re-supplied and the rest will be connected to the network in the next two to three days.

Mustafa Lo said: "Also, damage has been done to the transmission line and drinking water supply springs of Dozin city, which is on the agenda of restoration."

The governor of Minodasht said about the extent of economic damage: the agricultural sector has suffered serious damage, which includes damage to 250 hectares of saffron, 200 hectares of rapeseed, 45 hectares of tobacco, 400 hectares of mountainous lands and about 100 kilometers of roads between farms.

Mustafa Lu continued: Initial reports indicate 10-100% damage to 200-250 residential units in the flooded areas, whose detailed assessment has been started.

Regarding the human casualties of this incident, he said: "Unfortunately, we had three missing persons in this incident, but with the efforts of the rescue forces, one person was found alive.

Referring to the holding of a crisis management meeting with the presence of Golestan Governor's Deputy Civil Affairs Coordinator, he emphasized the need to prepare for the coming months and said: "The main reason for the escalation of damage was the lack of dredging of some rivers in the mountain routes. Accordingly, it was decided to start extensive river dredging operations in these routes from tomorrow, using all the facilities of the executive bodies of the province and the private sector."

Pointing to the strategic role of Narmab-Chalchai dam in the management of this crisis, Mustafa Lu pointed out: by managing the valves of this dam, part of the runoff was controlled, and if this action had not been taken, the city of Gonbadkavus would have faced much heavier damages.
