Khanmohammadi: 1,300 Educational Projects to Be Commissioned by Year's End

Qom – The head of the Organization for Renovation, Development and Equipment of Schools announced plans to commission 1,300 educational projects by the end of the current year.

According to Mehr reporter, Hamidreza Khanmohammadi expressed gratitude for the participation of benefactors in the development of educational spaces at the 28th School Donors Festival of Qom province on Thursday afternoon: the progress achieved in the field of school building was not possible without the presence and support of donors and an important part of the country's capacity to solve educational deficiencies has been formed by relying on people's participation.

Referring to the development process of educational spaces in the country, he added: At the beginning of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the per capita educational space for each student was about one and a half square meters, which has now reached 5.59 square meters, and the realization of this growth, along with the increase in the student population, is due to the efforts of the education complex and the support of school benefactors.

The head of the country's school renovation, development and equipping organization stated that donors have a decisive role in meeting educational needs and stated: Donors' capacity to participate is one of the outstanding features of the field of education and without their presence, compensating for deficiencies and responding to the growing needs of schools will be accompanied by more difficulties.

Appreciating the benevolent intentions of the benefactors, Khanmohammadi continued: "The benefactors are taking steps in this direction with the aim of gaining God's satisfaction, and the appreciation and celebration of their services can also provide more motivation to continue these valuable activities."

Emphasizing the link between school building and the country's future, he said: the effects of philanthropists' actions should not be limited to the construction of educational buildings, because what happens in schools is directly related to the education of students and the future of society, and providing a suitable environment for education is an investment for future generations.

Donors came to work to rebuild damaged schools

In another part of his speech, the head of the country's school modernization, development and equipping organization pointed to the difficult conditions of implementing educational projects in recent months and added: the 12-day war and Ramadan, the subsequent incidents and conflicts, the sharp increase in the price of construction materials and the reduction of government resources, faced many problems in the implementation of construction projects.

Referring to the damage to schools during the war, Khanmohammadi said: In this situation, the main priority was to make the damaged schools ready for students to use by the beginning of the school year, and donors played a major role in realizing this goal.

He added: About 1,300 war-damaged schools were prepared for the beginning of the academic year with the participation of donors and without allocating a single rial of government funds.

Head of the country's School Renovation, Development and Equipping Organization pointed out that some schools were left with complete destruction: the reconstruction of this category of schools is also on the agenda, and with the continuation of executive measures, these educational spaces will return to the exploitation cycle in the future.

Khanmohammadi also announced the preparation of 1,300 educational projects for operation this year and said: the operation ceremony of these projects is supposed to begin on Saturday with the order of the president.

School construction guarantees the future of the country

Appreciating the cooperation of contractors, executive directors and groups active in the field of school construction, he said: advancing construction projects in difficult economic conditions and despite the increase in costs, requires continuous effort and cooperation of all related departments, and activists in this field have remained with the school renovation group despite the existing problems.

Referring to the role of the governor of Qom in supporting the educational justice development movement, Khanmohammadi said: I appreciate the efforts and support of the governor of Qom in advancing this movement, and the support of the provincial officials for the development of educational spaces can help speed up the implementation of programs.

In the end, the head of the National School Renovation, Development and Equipping Organization thanked the Director General of Education, the Director General of Provincial School Renovation, the school building benefactors and scholars present at the ceremony and expressed his hope: with the continuation of these collaborations, the country's students will study in standard and equipped educational spaces, and the ground will be provided for raising a capable generation and guaranteeing the future of the country.
