'Civics Made Easy' Renewed for Season 2 by PBS (Exclusive)

And it will be displayed in two days.

PBS has renewed Civics Made Easy for a second season, which will air in exactly two days, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Civics Made Easy is hosted by author Ben Sheehan (What Does the Constitution Really Say? A Non-Boring Guide to How Our Democracy Is Supposed to Work). The eight-episode second season will run until January 2027. The Webby Award-winning series explores the fundamentals of our government.

This new chapter of Civics Made Easy explores questions like "Is America really a democracy?" "What is partisan warfare and how is it legal?" and "How powerful is my government?"

The American Experience will release a four-part series on the history of the FBI in 2027.

In each episode, Sheehan "breaks down complex topics into digestible lessons that help audiences of all ages better understand the fundamentals of U.S. government," the PBS synopsis continues. "The new episodes also examine constitutional rights, proposals for federal term and age limits, the Supreme Court's shadow docket, the extent of separation between church and state, and who decides what children learn in public education."

Civics Made Easy, produced by Second Peninsula, airs Wednesdays on PBS member stations, the PBS App, and YouTube. Sheehan is also the writer and executive producer of the series.

"In season two, we wanted to tackle some of the most difficult political questions of today," Madani Nistshihan said in a statement. My goal has always been to make government more understandable - because the more we know how it works, the more we can make sure it works for us.

"Civics Made Easy has been a hit with PBS audiences, generating engagement and excitement from stations and viewers across the country," said Margaret Ibrahim, senior director of multiplatform programming at PBS. We are very proud to have Ben Sheehan as a part of this special initiative because he has the rare ability to excite rather than frighten our curious audience of lifelong learners.

Steve Goldblum is the creative director and executive producer of Civics Made Easy. Melissa Williams and Julie Hermelin are also executive producers. Ana Dávila and Summer Mastain are the producers. Benita Sills is the senior editor and Fred Arlaro is the final editor. Gabi Amerth is the Social Media Manager. PBS directors are Margaret Abraham, Carolyn Rickert and Stefania De Leon.
