Ranking of the best artificial intelligence apps; Personal assistants are becoming more popular

The results of a ranking of the best artificial intelligence shows that Chat JPT, Cloud and Gemina are the leaders of the competition.

According to Mehr reporter; After three years of rapid growth, the global consumer artificial intelligence market has entered a situation where the number of users alone is not considered a suitable criterion for measuring the success of technology companies. The 7th report of the Andreessen Horowitz Investment Institute (a16z), dated October 5, 2026, shows that despite the expansion of general use of artificial intelligence tools, the majority of the industry's revenue still depends on a limited group of professional users. This report presents a picture of the changing structure of competition in this market by examining the top 50 web products based on monthly visits, 50 mobile applications based on monthly active users and, for the first time, an independent ranking of the spending of American consumers.

The findings of the report show that nearly half of American consumers use artificial intelligence, but the share of daily users is about 25%. Also, in August 2026, only 4.5% of eligible consumers in the "YipitData" statistical sample had an active personal subscription to one of the three chat services, Gemina or Cloud. This gap between the amount of use and payment reveals the main issue of the economics of consumer AI. Companies have been able to bring technology into the lives of millions of people, but turning this widespread use into sustainable revenue remains a fundamental market challenge.

Dominance of ChatGPT and changing the competitive position of Cloud and Gemina

The new ranking shows that ChatGPT is still at the top of the market. In terms of monthly web visits, this product has almost twice as much traffic as Jamina and six times as much as Cloud. Its superiority is more noticeable in the mobile market. Accordingly, the number of monthly active users of ChatGPT is reported to be about 2.5 times that of Gemina and 14 times that of Cloud.

However, the most important competitive development among language models is the development of clade. This product, which was not present in the first ranking in September 2023, has now surpassed DeepSick and Perplexity in web traffic, and in March 2026, it has also passed Gemina in terms of the number of American paid subscribers. The report's paid subscriptions chart in August 2026 shows ChatGPT's share at 3.02%, Gemina's at 1.09%, and Cloud at 1.07% of eligible users.

The difference in the income strategy of these companies is also significant. About 7.3% of Polycloud subscribers use the expensive "Max" plan with a basic tariff of $100 per month. While the share of similar plans in Google and ChatGPT is 1.3 and 1.1 percent, respectively. This difference indicates that Entropic has been successful in attracting professional users with a high willingness to pay, although the data of summer 2026 indicates an increase in the loss of subscribers and a decrease in the rate of attracting new cloud users.

What do the ratings say? The distance between popularity and income

One of the decisive findings of the report is the significant difference between the ranking of products based on traffic and user spending. In the list of the top 50 web products, ChatGPT, Gemina, Cloud, Canva and Dipsik hold the first five positions. ChatGPT, Capcat, Gemina, Canva and "AI Gallery" are leading in mobile ranking.

On the other hand, the list of consumption income has a different order. The first five positions are assigned to OpenAI, Entropic, Canva, "Superhuman" and "Higgsfield". The presence of the agent-oriented service company "Superhuman" in the fourth place and the multimedia content production platform "Higgsfield" in the fifth place highlight the importance of specialized and professional tools in the artificial intelligence economy.

According to the report, 29 of the top 50 companies by spend are essentially absent from the top lists for web or mobile traffic. Only seven products are common in all three rankings. This difference shows that the economic value of artificial intelligence products has become more dependent on the type of application, the intensity of use and the customer's willingness to pay.

Concentration of income in the hands of professional users

"YipitData" data indicates a very uneven distribution of spending. Accordingly, the top 1 percent of users accounted for 19.5 percent of the total observed spending. This figure is more than the total share of 50% of users with the lowest payment, equivalent to 16.6%. The average monthly payment of the 1 percent group reaches $903, while the average user spends only $25 per month.

The spending of this group has increased by 80% in 18 months. The most tendency of the mentioned users is dedicated to programming tools, automation, content production and increasing productivity. Products like "n8n" and "Manus" and "Higgsfield" and "HeyGen" and "Figma" have benefited from this model.

This situation indicates the formation of a market in which professional users play the main role in providing companies with income. For this group, artificial intelligence is a tool for producing economic value and paying for subscription or consumption is justified by increasing productivity and income generation capacity.

The entry of artificial intelligence into the field of personal assistants

The Andreessen Horowitz report identifies the emergence of personal intelligent agents as one of the most important paths of market evolution. In this regard, products like "Instinct" and "Muse" and "Dots" and "Grok Bot" are trying to transfer artificial intelligence from the conversation environment to the execution of daily tasks, shopping, booking and managing personal activities.

According to reports, "Instinct" has crossed 100,000 users in three weeks. The founder of this company has announced that 40% of users connect their credit card within three weeks and purchasing users make an average of $1,300 monthly transactions through this agent. On the other hand, "Muse" owned by Meta Company has crossed five million downloads in less than a month.

The importance of this evolution lies in the possibility of forming transaction-based revenue models. However, the entry of intelligent agents into e-commerce will depend on the cooperation of platforms. While Amazon has limited access to Muse, companies like Shopify, Instacart, and Expedia have moved toward formal integration.

The opportunity of startups against the giants of technology

The expansion of artificial intelligence capabilities in established products has increased the competitive pressure on start-up companies. Canva and Notion are among the top ten web products and Figma is among the top fifteen. Google is also present in the web directory with five products.

Despite this, the report highlights four competitive advantages for startups:

Focus on the specialized needs of users

The success of "Suno" and "ElevenLabs" in producing creative content, "Cursor" and "OpenRouter" in using different models, and "OpenEvidence" in providing specialized medical services show that the market still has capacity for differentiated products. The presence of "OpenEvidence" in the 47th rank of the web and "Venice" in the 43rd rank also reveals the importance of specialization and privacy.

Revenue Model Crisis: Why Subscription Alone Is Not Enough?

A survey of 44 native artificial intelligence products in the web directory shows that 84.1% use paid subscriptions and 63.6% use usage fees or additional credit. The share of advertising is only 13.6% and revenue based on transaction or platform fees is 2.3%.

This combination is different from the consumer internet economy before artificial intelligence. In 2025, advertising accounted for 97.6% of Meta's revenue and 73.2% of Alphabet's revenue. The high cost of processing artificial intelligence models has led new companies to charge directly from users.

However, the report reports the emergence of new options. OpenAI has announced that the annual revenue of ChatGPT ads has reached one billion dollars in August 2026. Also, personal agents can earn money in the future through purchase and service fees.

The future of the market depends on the transformation of artificial intelligence into everyday service

The 7th Andreessen Horowitz report shows that the consumer AI industry is moving from competition based on the number of users to competition on the economic value of use. Consolidation of the position of leading companies, concentration of income among professional users and the emergence of intelligent agents are the three defining developments of this stage.

In the future horizon, the competitive advantage of companies will depend on their ability to link artificial intelligence with the real needs of users, reduce the cost of providing services, and develop diverse revenue models. Products that can go beyond answering questions and undertake economic and personal activities will have more capacity to attract users and generate stable income. From this point of view, the next stage of the development of consumer artificial intelligence should be sought in the transformation of the way digital services are provided and the reorganization of economic relations between users, platforms and service providers.
