New details about Samsung's Galaxy A58 and A38 mid-range phones have recently surfaced, revealing the camera specifications of these products.
According to the GalaxyClub website, the Galaxy A58 5G is expected to use the same resolution as the current Galaxy A57 cameras; That is, a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera and a 12-megapixel selfie camera. However, it should be noted that this information is currently only related to the resolution of the cameras, and the size of the sensors, aperture, or actual hardware changes have not yet been confirmed. However, no significant change is expected in this sector.
Noteworthy is the 5 megapixel macro camera. This camera was used for the first time in 2020 and in the Galaxy A51. If the Galaxy A58 launches in early 2027, March or April, as most sources predict, Samsung has used the same low-resolution macro camera in its mid-range phones for almost seven years. Once again, there is no news of a dedicated telephoto camera and the set of cameras is limited to the main camera, ultra-wide and macro.
For comparison, the Galaxy A57 launched this spring and was equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera with a 1.56-inch class sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera, and a 12-megapixel selfie camera.
Reports suggest that Samsung started working on the A58 hardware a few months ago and recently entered the software development phase. This phone is expected to come with Android 17 and One UI 9.5.
The new details also suggest that the Galaxy A38, as a cheaper option, will likely follow the familiar path of its predecessor when it launches next year.
According to GalaxyClub, the Galaxy A38 is expected to use the same set of cameras as the current Galaxy A37; Including a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 5-megapixel macro camera and a 12-megapixel selfie camera.
This is in line with Samsung's general pattern for cameras on its A-series phones in 2027; An approach that focuses on keeping familiar hardware and offering real improvements through software, better processing or finer image settings. Upgrades are likely to be seen in other areas such as the processor, battery, display, or overall phone experience.
Prices are also gradually increasing. In Europe, the Galaxy A36 was released in 2025 with a base price of around 379 euros. The Galaxy A37 was launched this year at a price of 429 euros, and since then, its official price has increased to 469 euros in some markets. Some are already predicting that the price of the Galaxy A38 will be close to 500 euros when it is released; An issue that is partially attributed to the increase in the cost of memory chips.
The Galaxy A38 and A58 are expected to launch between March and April 2027, shortly after the launch of the Galaxy S27 series.
