Barzegar: People's Livelihood Concerns Must Be the Priority in Decision-Making
Ardestan – The Friday prayer leader of Mahabad, criticizing economic problems, said officials must work through careful planning and effective decision-making to improve the economic situation and reduce livelihood pressures on the public.
Hojjat-ul-Islam Ehsanullah Barzgarpisheh, in a conversation with Mehr reporter, emphasized the necessity of people's demands and officials' accountability and stated: National unity and solidarity does not mean ignoring weaknesses and problems, rather, people have the right to criticize the performance of officials and be demanding about the country's issues in addition to preserving unity.
He added: Demanding is one of the basic principles of the country's progress and an effective solution to prevent corruption, rent-seeking and managerial weaknesses, and any criticism should not be interpreted as opposition to national unity and solidarity.
Imam Jumeh Mahabad noted: "Wefaq is valuable when it includes all parts of the society and moves in the direction of public interests and the progress of the country." Therefore, it is not possible to support some people and currents in the name of unity, but it was indifferent to the problems of the elites, the migration of specialized forces and the obstacles to the country's progress.
Barzegarpisheh stated: People who are placed in management positions should be accountable for their performance, decisions and statements, and the return of people to different responsibilities should not be done without checking their records and past performance.
He stated: People expect officials to fulfill their promises and act according to the criteria they emphasized when accepting responsibility. Because responsibility in the Islamic system, before being a privilege, is a trust to serve the people.
Imam Juma Mahabad continued: One of the most important duties of officials is to deal with the economic and livelihood issues of the people, and the performance of the government's economic complex should be seriously evaluated. People have the right to know why, despite the change of managers and economic officials, they are still facing fluctuations in the currency market and rising prices.
Barzegarpisheh added: Successive change of economic managers alone cannot solve the problems, and what is important is to present an effective program, properly manage resources, and be accountable for the results of decisions.
He reminded: if an official does not have the ability to manage the area entrusted to him, his competence and continued responsibility should be reconsidered; Because people cannot pay for management inefficiencies in their daily lives.
Referring to the need for transparency in the field of oil sales and the return of the country's foreign exchange earnings, Imam Jumeh of Mahabad said: Any ambiguity about the financial resources and income from oil exports should be carefully investigated and the relevant officials are obliged to explain their performance.
Barzegarpisheh stated: If there is any accusation or violation, the judicial system should pursue the matter in accordance with the law and through legal channels so that public rights are preserved and people are assured of the process of dealing with cases related to the resources and assets of the country.
Referring to the role of the judicial system in dealing with corruption, he added: the experience of dealing with economic cases has shown that judicial follow-up and the demand for the return of public property can be effective in protecting people's rights; Therefore, no person should consider himself above the law.
Imam Jumeh Mahabad pointed out: The accountability of officials is not limited to the economic field and the performance of managers in the cultural, educational and academic sectors should also be evaluated. Because universities are one of the most important training centers for specialized and influential human resources in the future of the country.
Barzgarpisheh stated: The management of universities and cultural centers should be done according to the serious responsibility of these institutions in educating the next generation, and the selection of managers should be based on competence, ability and adherence to legal responsibilities.
He continued: Respecting the people's vote and preserving the national unity does not contradict criticizing the performance of the government and officials. Society needs empathy to progress, but empathy should not become a tool to ignore weaknesses or prevent problems from being expressed.
Referring to the diplomatic positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in international forums, Imam Jumeh Mahabad said: the words of the country's officials in the international arena should reflect the honor, authority and national interests, and people expect the diplomatic system to act from a position appropriate to Iran's status and capacities in interacting with different countries.
Barzegarpisheh added: In foreign relations, maintaining mutual respect and defending the rights of the Iranian nation is of fundamental importance, and any diplomatic stance should be taken with national interests and regional conditions in mind.
He stated: The Islamic Republic of Iran has faced many pressures and threats in the past years, and what can make the country resistant to these pressures is internal unity, strengthening of defense power, correct management and reliance on national capacities.
Imam Juma Mahabad emphasized the need to keep the community alert against divisive conspiracies and noted: People should be alert to currents that seek to weaken national unity by creating discord and mistrust. Because dissension and creating a gap in the society can provide the basis for the abuse of the enemies.
Barzegarpisheh added: Of course, preserving the national unity must be accompanied by listening to the voice of the people and paying attention to their demands, and the officials must also provide the basis for strengthening public trust with proper performance.
Pointing to the necessity of effective service delivery in the executive bodies, he said: Managers and employees of the departments should consider serving the people as their main priority and avoid personal encounters, creating unnecessary obstacles, and wandering between different administrative departments.
Imam Juma of Mahabad continued: People should not be referred many times from one room to another or from one office to another to do a simple administrative task; Rather, executive bodies should pave the way for service delivery by reforming processes, reducing bureaucracy, and increasing accountability.
Barzegarpisheh reminded: sometimes the client may speak with discomfort due to the problems and pressures of life, but this issue should not be an excuse for ignoring his legal request or creating an obstacle in doing his affairs. The dignity of the people requires that the employees of executive bodies treat them with patience, respect and responsibility.
He emphasized: "Responsibility in the Islamic system is a trust for service, and administrators who are only content with administrative presence and performing daily tasks, without taking effective steps to solve people's problems, should review their performance."
Stating that honest service to the people should be the main criterion for evaluating managers, Imam Jumeh of Mahabad said: Local officials and managers of executive bodies should check the performance of the groups under their management and see which departments are successful in providing services and which departments need to be reformed and changed.
Barzgarpisheh added: Every manager who has the ability and motivation to serve should have the necessary opportunity for effective activity. But on the other hand, failing to perform duties, ignoring people's rights, and causing dissatisfaction through irresponsible behaviors are not compatible with the philosophy of accepting responsibility.
In another part of his speech, referring to the role of people's presence and participation in social and political scenes, he stated: the conscious and responsible presence of people can be effective in strengthening national cohesion and increasing hope in the society, and the more public solidarity increases, the more the enemy's abuse of internal disputes decreases.
Imam Jumah of Mahabad noted: The authorities should appreciate this social capital and strengthen the people's trust with correct performance, accountability and honest service delivery. Because the continuity of public trust depends on the level of adherence of managers to their duties and responsibilities.
Barzgarpisheh emphasized: The most important expectation of the people from the officials is to fulfill their promises, seriously fight corruption, deal with livelihood problems, respect the rights of citizens and work day and night for the progress of the country, and all managers should know that the opportunity to serve the people is a serious responsibility and a valuable trust.
