Shine Biolink
Continuous blood glucose monitors have made it easier to track blood sugar, but traditional devices still require a needle and often a smartphone. Biolinq Shine simplifies glucose monitoring. Worn on the forearm rather than the stomach or arm, the wearable patch uses tiny silicon microsensors that are placed on the skin without needles, while an integrated LED display provides real-time feedback without an app. To help users correlate everyday behaviors with glucose changes, the FDA-cleared device, which also tracks sleep and activity, "can help people feel what they can't feel in that moment," says Biolinq CEO Rich Young. Shine is currently available with a prescription and is expected to be available early next year.
