Aryanejad: Resolving the Energy Imbalance Is Not Possible by Reducing Public Consumption Alone

Malayer's representative in the Islamic Consultative Assembly stressed that resolving the energy imbalance is not possible by reducing public consumption alone. He said education and awareness, continuous oversight, engagement with consumers, facilities, and support for industries and farmers, along with planning to secure alternative fuel, are among the measures that must be placed on the agenda to manage the energy imbalance.

In an interview with Ambassador Arjan's reporter, Ahmad Aryai-nejad, referring to the necessity of macro-national management of the energy sector and the duties of governing institutions in this sector, said: "Fixing the energy imbalance requires multilateral interaction between officials, inspectors, supervisors, promoters, educators, people, industrial owners and farmers, and people cannot be expected to solve the problems of this sector by reducing consumption." This member of parliament added: For example, we should check what measures are taken in the field of electricity, gas or other energy carriers in each region and to what extent these measures have led to the optimization of energy consumption. If the desired result is not achieved or the desired indicators are not improved, we must check what is the cause of this situation and whether there was a shortcoming or weakness in the performance of officials and related groups.

The necessity of evaluating the performance of officials in energy consumption management

Aryanijad stated: We all must receive feedback on our performance in whatever position and responsibility we are in. If the indicators do not move in a positive and forward direction, we must investigate the cause; Because one of the reasons may be lack of work or weakness in interacting with people and collections under management. He continued: Persuasion is also very important in this field. Information should be communicated to people in such a way that they are persuaded to cooperate with energy management programs. It is not enough to simply give an order or say that consumption should be reduced; Rather, conditions should be provided so that people understand the necessity of implementing these programs and are motivated to cooperate with the authorities.

Referring to the importance of farmers' cooperation in managing water resources, a member of the Parliament's Health and Treatment Commission said: "There are many issues in the field of water; Including how to optimize water consumption and move towards the production of products with less water consumption. But along with the design of these programs, we must check how far the farmers cooperate with them and whether the implementation of the programs has led to positive results or not.

Aryaninejad added: For example, if we are going to help the farmer by paying facilities to get proper pipes and prevent water wastage in the transmission route, this support should be designed in such a way that the farmer can implement it and finally, by producing the right product, he will benefit from its results.

Supporting industries to deal with energy constraints

Referring to the problems of industries during power outages and energy supply restrictions, he said: I went to visit a factory yesterday and observed that power outages in the middle of production activities cause many problems for the complex. It has been announced to some industries that according to the existing conditions, the supply of their required fuel may be limited and it is necessary to adjust their internal systems in such a way that they have the possibility of using alternative fuels.

The representative of the people of Malair in the Islamic Council continued: Just as in the past it was possible for some cars to use two types of fuel so that if there is a problem in supplying one fuel, the other fuel can be used, in the industry sector, we must also plan in advance for the situation where the supply of one type of energy faces a problem.

Aryanijad emphasized: These measures should be planned in a proper process and long in advance. For example, industries can be warned from the beginning of summer that they may face restrictions on energy supply in winter. Of course, just announcing the warning is not enough; Rather, we should help industries, especially if they do not have the financial capacity to make reforms. He added: After providing the necessary training and assistance, the implementation of the measures should be monitored to determine the timeframe in which the industries should modify their systems. For example, if the amount of fuel allocated to an industrial unit is to be reduced from the beginning of November and that unit is forced to use another fuel, it must have provided the necessary infrastructure in advance.

Management of energy consumption according to the climatic conditions of the country

Emphasizing the necessity of speeding up the implementation of fuel consumption optimization programs, Arianejad stated: There is not much time left until the winter season and necessary measures should be taken as soon as possible to optimize fuel consumption, from the household sector to the industrial sector. He continued: Our country has four seasons and the amount of energy needed in different regions is different according to the climatic conditions and the type of people's activities. For example, in cold regions such as our region, the need for energy for heating is more, while in tropical regions, the consumption pattern and needs may be different. Along with these things, issues such as electricity consumption for water pumps and other activities should also be considered.

Emphasizing that all individuals and institutions should perform their duties in the field of energy consumption management properly, Arianejad said: When there is a sense of patriotism and a sense of common responsibility towards the country, every person from his home can play a role in reducing energy consumption. For example, if the TV is on but no one is watching it, we should turn it off. Also, if no one is using a room and it is possible for family members to do their activities in a common space, energy consumption can be saved in this way.

Emphasizing the necessity of proper distribution of resources and facilities in the country, he noted: the resources and facilities available to the government should be distributed properly and according to the needs of the people and different occupational and social groups. At the same time, people, industries, farmers and officials should also play their role in consumption management.

In the end, this member of parliament emphasized: It is not possible to solve the energy imbalance by focusing only on reducing people's consumption, but a series of measures including education, raising awareness, continuous monitoring, interacting with consumers, providing facilities, supporting industries and farmers, and planning to provide alternative fuel should be put on the agenda. Optimizing energy consumption and reducing problems caused by inconsistency can only be achieved through coordination between governing institutions and the participation of people and economic activists.
