EXCLUSIVE: Rising executive, writer and producer Michael Lerner has signed with WME and Untitled for representation.

Learner has signed on for his thriller Seeker, which, as we announced last month, will be produced by Dinner in America director Adam Carter Rehmeier. The film revolves around Grant, a man haunted by the inexplicable disappearance of his fiancee five years earlier. Now an Uber driver, his life is thrown into disarray when he picks up a passenger he's convinced is responsible for her disappearance.

A seasoned writer, Leller wrote a ton of screenplays over the course of a decade before gaining attention in Seeker — a medium-budget lighthearted depiction of the stories he's passionate about telling. A co-head of Alex Lebovich's Hammerstone studio, which is handling his film, Lerner has been with the production company for three-and-a-half years, quickly rising from intern to director of development, where he focuses on identifying and developing original, entertaining stories with broad audience appeal. He is an executive producer on Little One and Slime (Hammerstone), and is a producer on Gabriel Basso's upcoming Iconoclast and By Any Means, the recent true crime thriller starring Yahya Abdulmatin II and Mark Wahlberg for Paramount. The creative self-builder has supported, participated.

He is now producing Seaker alongside LeBucci, HyperObject Industries' Adam McKay and Todd Shulman, Noah Centineo, and Arkhum Production's Enzo Mark.

The learner told us: "I've always heard vague stories about a situation where someone works for a producer, builds trust and a relationship, and then one day shares the script with the producer who decides to make it...but I've rarely heard of that happening. I couldn't be more grateful to Alex and the entire Hammerstone team for making my dream run a great reality. That's his superpower.

Originally from Chicago, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in cognitive science. During his time there, he won the Red and Blue List Screenwriting Competition and received his MA in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute Conservatory.
