Netflix's Blue-Eyed Samurai Adds Three New Cast Members - Exclusive | IGN Fall Fan Fest 2026

Season 2 Arrives on Netflix in January 2027.

Season 2 of Blue Eye Samurai is right around the corner, and we've got some big casting news just in time for IGN Fan Fest: Fall Edition. New episodes of the Netflix animated series are coming soon, but you don't have to wait that long for a sneak peek of the series, as IGN can exclusively reveal three new additions to the cast of the blue-eyed samurai.

First, Joel Kim Booster will join the show as Pastor Ando.

Next, we have a look at Jonathan Pryce in Old Violet.

Finally, we can reveal the first look of Shree Kula as Kuma.

For the uninitiated, Blue Eyed Samurai is an animated Netflix bloody revenge drama set in 17th century Japan. It follows Mizu (voiced by Maya Erskine), a swordsman whose distinctive blue eyes make him an outcast. Disguised as a man and armed with an awe-inspiring talent for slicing and slicing his enemies, Mizu hunts down four white men who were living illegally in Japan at the time of his birth in an attempt to find his father. Season 1 ended with Mizo heading to London to continue his search, and we'll see what he finds in the city in Season 2.

Created by Michael Green (whose credits also include Logan and Blade Runner 2049) and Amber Newsumi, the series debuted in November 2023 and went on to win an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program, a respectable achievement for a show with so many.

Season 2 will arrive on Netflix in January 2027 and will mark the end of Mizzou's journey, while a third season is scheduled for 2028.
