At the meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Baghdad, the Prime Minister of Iraq called for increasing the efforts of these countries to achieve regional peace and stability.

According to Ambassador Arjan's report, quoted by Al-Mayadeen, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi emphasized at the beginning of the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member countries: regional and international crises make us move towards more joint cooperation to protect the interests of our nations.

He added: This organization is an important pillar in strengthening brotherly relations and solidarity between our nations. We emphasize Iraq's principled position on the Palestinian issue as the main center of conflicts in the region.

Al-Zaidi stated: The rights of the Palestinian nation must be considered. Guaranteeing the rights of the Palestinian people is considered the basis of regional security and stability. Iraq has suffered and continues to suffer from the consequences of conflicts in the region and its economic effects.

He said: Cooperation and acceptance of differences is the key to understanding and eliminating differences and strengthening unity in the Islamic Ummah. We want the freedom of trade and protection of its routes and the guarantee of the transfer of goods in international passages. Iraq presents an initiative to seamlessly connect energy networks, rail lines, transport systems and digital communications. We ask the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to make more efforts to achieve stability and peace in the region.
