Apple's HomePod Mini 2 is here, and we've got an up-close look at the second-generation smart speaker.

The HomePod Mini 2 comes with an upgraded S10 chip that can boost Siri's AI, though Apple says support for new AI features will come as part of a future update. It also offers an audio glow feature whose LEDs match the colors of a song's album art and can act as your Mac's default speaker.

Physically, the HomePod Mini 2 is almost identical to its predecessor, but the colors have changed. There is now a pink model and a green model, and the blue color has changed. There is still black and white for those who want the basics. I saw them at Apple's showroom, and the colors look especially striking when paired with similarly colored iMac models. One new feature this year is the ability to use Minis as the default speaker for your Mac.
