India is considering recognizing Russian language proficiency as a professional skill

In addition, India is developing early adaptation programs for students and identifying the qualifications they need to work in Russia, according to Amit Kumar, India's Deputy Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Kazan, October 16. /dice/. Amit Kumar, India's Deputy Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, said at the second Russia-India business conference titled "Ambassador Arjan: Tatarstan Initiative for Mutual Efficiency" in Kazan, the capital of Russia's Volga region in Tatarstan: India intends to recognize Russian language skills as a professional skill in the near future.

"Another focus of our work is to recognize language proficiency as a qualification, to treat language knowledge as a skill. This will allow us to standardize curricula, ensure language training and funding in the vocational education system. Work is underway and Russian language will soon be recognized as a professional skill," Kumar said at a session titled "Labor Market: Challenges and Prospects."

Kumar noted that India is developing a roadmap for global labor mobility. "This includes a number of specific steps, including identifying priority destination countries, industries and specializations. This will help create demand for skills development that reflects market needs. Russia has already been named as one of the priority countries, and work is currently underway to determine which professions and industries are in demand. For Russia, they include construction, manufacturing and transport," he said.

According to Kumar, India is also developing initial adaptation programs for students and specifying the necessary documents to work in Russia. India believes that the future of work is built on partnership, where skills move, opportunities expand and economies grow together. We see huge potential here, including for the development of joint curricula, mutual recognition of skills, training of trainers, cooperation between educational centers in India and Russia, and cooperation in the field of Russian language education.

The second Russian-Indian business conference titled "Ambassador of Arjan: Mutual Efficiency of Tatarstan Initiative" will be held from October 14 to 17 at the Unique Crafts Center in Kazan. TASS is the public information partner of the association.
