The singer told the crowd that one of the things that inspired her to play the venue was the memory of the only time she was able to sit and enjoy Parton's show at the Hollywood Bowl.

He remembers telling "Aunt Dolly" that for once, he wanted to sit in the crowd like everyone else and enjoy her. Cyrus began, "If he did, and he was playing a show, I'd be standing next to him in the same outfit. And so when I came to see him at the Bowl, I said, you know, 'I'd love a night where I could just experience you.' I can only enjoy you as the rest of the world has."

The "Flowers" singer said her godmother replied, "Okay, Miley," but Cyrus joked, "That's never a good thing."
Instead of bringing Cyrus onstage to perform with her, Parton instead opened the show with "The Best of Both Worlds," Crave's Hannah Montana hit: "Dolly walks in, but I hear 'The Best of Both Worlds.' Yeah, Dolly opened Hannah Montana's performance."
"But that's not the end of that story," he continued. And she says, like a proud aunt, “I don't know if you all know this, but my stepdaughter is Hannah Montana, and she's actually here tonight, but she's sitting in her chair. He didn't want anyone to bother him. He said he just wanted to watch the show,” which defeated the entire purpose of the conversation because he fully realized I had no one at the concert. Disgusting attention to it."
"But like a lot of things Dolly did, I didn't realize it at the time," Cyrus said.
"I'm sitting here with you right now," he said, "I feel him around me, I know he's here with me, every day, more than he ever could be when he was here; I feel him now more than ever. "Knowing that I can share this story with all of you makes that night so precious. This memory is gold to me. Dolly and I, we are forever. Nothing in this life can ever tear us apart, and I will see her again."
"And I can't damn wait because I miss her," Cyrus said through tears. "Some of the best music we have today was written, produced and performed by my Aunt Dolly, and this is one of those songs," she concluded before launching into "Julien."

Many celebrities have paid tribute to the queen of country music following her death, including Cyrus, who wrote a tribute on Instagram: "The feeling of losing Aunt Dolly is beyond what is right to share."

"My heart breaks for the world, his family and friends who will miss him deeply. We are together in this loss and will see him in the most beautiful things."
