According to Ambassador Arjan, many people have opened accounts in different banks over the past years; Accounts some of which are no longer useful or whose owners may have even forgotten which banks they have accounts in. Now, Central Bank's "Hossam" system has made it possible for citizens to view their account list at once and take action to close unnecessary accounts. Without having to go to the bank branch to register the application.

This system was launched with the aim of organizing the bank accounts of natural persons and facilitating their management. After authentication, users can view their accounts in different banks and credit institutions and apply for assignment of surplus and unused accounts.

How to close your bank account?

To use this service, just visit the official address [hesam.cis.].

After logging in and authenticating, review your bank accounts and choose to close the accounts you no longer need. Next, you need to introduce a bank account as "base account" so that if the selected account is closed, its balance will be transferred to the base account.

After registering the request, the information will be sent to the relevant bank. The bank checks the status of the account and closes the account if there are no pending obligations or legal obstacles. Therefore, registering a request does not mean immediate and definitive closing of the account.

If an account is used to receive salaries, allowances or other recurring deposits, it is best to identify a replacement account before closing it. Also, check the status of loan installments, checkbook, current checks and other possible obligations so that closing the account does not cause problems for your finances.

According to the statistics announced by the central bank, until October 21 this year, 81 thousand 368 people have applied to the Hossam system and 1 million 630 thousand 891 bank account assignments have been registered. This statistic represents the number of requests, not the number of accounts actually closed.

Now citizens can check their bank accounts by referring to this system and take action to close unnecessary accounts.
