Professional Home Burglar Confesses to Crime in Tehran

A search of his backpack uncovered stolen property and tools specifically used for breaking and opening home locks.

The 7th Chief Sheriff of the Capital Prevention Police announced the arrest of a house thief in the area of ​​116 Molvi Police Station and said: This accused was identified and arrested during the officers' patrol, and during the inspection of his backpack, stolen property and tools for destroying and unlocking houses were discovered.

Explaining the details of this case, Colonel Reza Sadeghipour stated: Following the occurrence of several cases of house robberies in the area of 116 Molavi police station, the matter was brought up in the commission for the prevention of theft and by the order of the head of the police station, identifying and arresting the perpetrator or perpetrators of the robberies was placed on the agenda of the officers.

He added: The operation team of Molvi police station succeeded in identifying the identity of the thief by examining the scenes of the robbery and reviewing the CCTV footage. Subsequently, while on patrol, the officers became suspicious of a man with the given description who was carrying a backpack and stopped him for further investigation.

The 7th Chief Sheriff of the Capital Prevention Police continued: During the inspection of the accused's backpack, a number of stolen property and tools and equipment for destroying and unlocking houses were discovered. After the arrest, the accused was transferred to the police station, and after checking the uncovered property, the officers reached the owner's phone number.

Colonel Sadeghipour clarified: After inviting the plaintiff to the police station and identifying the discovered property, the defendant confessed to the theft and claimed to have committed four thefts so far.

He pointed out that, in addition to the discovered property, gold, television, vacuum cleaner, other household furniture, some dollars and cash were also stolen from the complainant's house.

In the end, this police officer said: After the filing of the case, the accused was presented to the judicial authority for legal procedures, and with the judicial order, he was given to the seventh base of the Intelligence Police to continue the investigation.
