Referring to the completion of his government's cabinet after five months, the Iraqi Prime Minister emphasized the beginning of accelerated steps in the path of work and effort and facing challenges and heavy cases.
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi announced in a statement: "Within five months of forming the government, we completed the composition of the cabinet and filled the vacant ministries, and we commit to our nation to continue implementing the government's priorities."
According to Ambassador Arjan's narration, he added that his cabinet has been working under "very complicated conditions" for the past months and the war in the region continues to impose exceptional economic and security challenges on Iraq.
Al-Zaidi also noted that his government has taken historic steps to strengthen the country's sovereignty and decision-making independence in order to end the military presence of the international coalition in Iraq.
The Prime Minister of Iraq called the completion of the cabinet a factor in strengthening the government's ability to manage national affairs and asked the deputy prime ministers and new ministers to fulfill their duties with the highest level of commitment, efficiency and cleanliness and to maintain the spirit of teamwork.
These developments occurred after the Iraqi Parliament voted for three deputy prime ministers and 11 ministers on Thursday (October 15, 2026); The meeting ended without a vote on the Ministry of Immigrants and Refugees and with the postponement of the vote for the deputy prime minister candidate (Fares Briefkani).
The Iraqi parliament had previously approved the al-Zaidi government on May 14, 2026, with only 14 ministers out of 23, and the remaining nine ministries had been run by caretakers for the past months.
