Calls over an "energy ceasefire" in Ukraine continue, with no change in the situation yet: Kremlin
Dmitry Peskov had also previously stressed that Russia is seeking a lasting peace rather than a ceasefire.
Moscow, October 13. /TASS/. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a news conference that Moscow was continuing its calls on a possible "energy ceasefire" but that there had been no new developments compared to yesterday.
A day earlier, the United States announced an alleged "energy ceasefire" between Russia and Ukraine. The Kremlin said at the time that contacts on the issue were still ongoing.
"We discussed this issue yesterday and I have nothing to add to what we said then," Peskov noted. Calls in this regard continue."
The Kremlin spokesman also emphasized the day before that Russia considers it necessary to achieve lasting peace instead of a ceasefire and is working towards this goal.
