U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro revealed Tuesday that her office is investigating the financial disclosures of U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, opening a new chapter in the controversy surrounding the Minnesota Democrat's multimillion-dollar assets.

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents executed a judicially-authorized search warrant on Monday as part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation, the Department of Justice confirmed. It remains unclear whether the search is in any way related to the financial disclosure investigation described by Pirro.

The revelations were scrutinized by congressional Republicans, including House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, who in February requested financial records from two companies linked to MyNet.

The winery, eStCru LLC, saw its reported valuation jump from between $15,000 and $50,000 in 2023 to between $1 million and $5 million in 2024. Rose Lake Capital LLC had a sharper rise, rising from $1,000 to $53 million, up from $1,000 to $25,000 a year.

In total, business values are reported between $15,000 and $51,000 in 2023, compared to $6 and $30 million in 2024.

Financial disclosure forms report assets in broad ranges rather than exact dollar amounts, meaning the filings don't reveal the couple's exact net worth.

In February, Comer requested documents and communications related to the finances of eStCru LLC and Rose Lake Capital LLC, raising questions about dramatic increases in their reported valuations.

Omar subsequently amended his financial information in April, reducing the couple's total reported assets to between $18,004 and $95,000. In the amended filing, her husband's two businesses have no net worth after accounting for liabilities.

Omar's office, at the time, said the original disclosure did not properly account for liabilities related to her husband's businesses, creating what it described as a misleading picture of the couple's finances.

In September, the Office of Congressional Conduct voted 5-1 to recommend that the House Ethics Committee dismiss allegations of misconduct stemming from financial disclosures.

The congressional watchdog found that there was no substantial reason that Omar reported false or incomplete information in violation of federal law or House rules.

Omar's office described these findings as conclusive and claimed that the parliamentarian did not commit any mistakes.

The congressional watchdog investigation is separate from the federal investigation that Pirro described on Tuesday.

Omar's most recent annual financial disclosure, filed in May, listed assets totaling between $20,000 and $125,000, according to a Minnesota Star Tribune analysis. The file also reported student loan and credit card debt related to her husband.
