Efforts to Reduce School Dropouts Focus on Identifying At-Risk Students

Qazvin – The Qazvin Director General of Education said improving educational quality, achieving educational equity, and reducing school dropouts are among the top priorities, and emphasized the targeted implementation of educational and training programs.

According to Mehr reporter, Mehrdad Yahyai, in a meeting with education managers and officials of Qazvin province on Tuesday afternoon, considered the fundamental transformation document as a roadmap for the activities of this group and stated: Programs and approvals should lead to practical results in the field of educational quality, educational justice and identity strengthening.

He listed respect for teachers, compliance with professional ethics, rule of law, and effective monitoring of principals' performance as the requirements of educational management, and emphasized on preserving the dignity of educators and dealing with school issues in a principled manner.

Director General of Education of Qazvin Province referring to the slogan of the Mental Health Week entitled "Voice of the Iranian Student; From the heart of crisis to resilience and hope", emphasized the necessity of actively listening to students, paying attention to behavioral signs and avoiding hasty judgments.

Yahyai considered the strict implementation of primary school students' screening, follow-up of the student social care system program (Symbol), cooperation with families and identification of students at risk of dropping out of school as necessary measures to promote mental health and prevent dropping out of school.

He also found the activation of teachers' council, school council and student council to be effective in improving decision-making and improving the quality of education and emphasized on the maximum use of face-to-face education capacity.

The Director General of Education of Qazvin Province further mentioned promoting the culture of prayer and intimacy with the Holy Quran, strengthening religious and national identity, paying attention to chaste living and promoting the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom as other educational priorities of education.
