FSB Detains Russian Woman Over Alleged Ukrainian Attack Plot on Military Airfield

According to Russia's Federal Security Service, the woman retrieved nine explosive-laden drones and drone control equipment from previously established hiding places and took them to a rented garage.

Moscow, October 13. /TASS/. Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) has arrested a Russian woman suspected of planning a drone attack on a military airport on the orders of the Security Service of Ukraine.

"The Federal Security Service in the Voronezh region foiled a large-scale sabotage and terrorist act planned by the Security Service of Ukraine, which intended to attack the Baltimore military airport of the Ministry of Defense of Russia with short-range drones," the statement said.

A law enforcement operation made it possible to expose and disrupt the illegal activities of a Russian woman recruited by a Ukrainian intelligence officer during a trip to Ukraine in 2022. These drones were supposed to be operated remotely by personnel based in Ukraine.

According to the FSB, the woman retrieved nine drones equipped with explosives, along with drone control equipment, from previously created warehouses and took them to the garage. Each drone carried 500 grams of foreign-made explosives.

Upon receiving the information, FSB officers immediately arrested the accomplice of the Ukrainian intelligence agencies and prevented the sabotage before it took place. The agency stressed that it contained potential consequences of actions by the Kiev regime against military installations.

The suspect has been arrested. "Efforts are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and identify all those involved," the FSB added.
