In a breathtaking navigation challenge, the Zero DSR electric motorcycle managed to record a stunning distance on a single charge and registered its name as the new Guinness World Record holder.

The two-wheeled electric vehicle industry is always struggling with the range challenge. Now the American company Zero Motorcycles (Zero Motorcycles) has managed to create a new standard in road navigation by leaving behind the famous competitors. This great achievement was achieved in the mountain routes of the Alps to the Mediterranean coast.

Zero DSR electric motorcycle masterpiece and Guinness World Record

The Belgian rider, Yelle Verstein, was able to cover a distance of 436.5 kilometers with only one full charge, driving the Zero DS model. This achievement improved the previous Guinness record of the Verge TS Pro motorcycle with a distance of 310.68 km by a difference of 125.8 km, which is nearly 40%.

Also, two other standard models including Zero SR/S with a range of 350 km and DSR/X with a range of 384 km were accompanied on this trip, both of which surpassed the previous world record.

Technical specifications and the secret of Zero's exceptional navigation

The main success factor of the DS model was the use of the official Power Tank equipment, which increased the battery capacity from 15.6 kWh to 19.2 kWh. The electric engine of this motorcycle produces 60 horsepower at its peak and 15 horsepower continuously. Traveling such a distance beyond the factory's official estimate of 249 km was recorded in the city.

Driving strategy on real alpine roads

Unlike the laboratory tests, the event was conducted on public roads, mountain passes and under heavy rain in the final sections. By managing an average speed of 51 km/h, the riders minimized the battery consumption by intelligently using the braking energy recovery system. Finally, after checking the sealed charging port and two independent GPS trackers, the Guinness official confirmed this historical record.
