What we know about Russia's nighttime attacks on Ukraine is close
A key energy center and a residential building on the outskirts of Kiev have been hit by Russian missiles and drones.
In the capital, at least three people were killed and 21 injured, the state emergency service DSNS said. At least 600,000 people across the country are without power after strikes on critical infrastructure in Kiev region and the northeastern city of Kharkiv.
The strikes come after US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that an "energy ceasefire" was in place between Russia and Ukraine.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced that the country's "massive" attacks targeted communications and energy facilities used by the Ukrainian military.
