Ambassador Arjan-Mohammed Sarabi: According to the issued instructions, the cultivation of industrial hemp with certified seeds and less than 0.3% of the psychoactive substance THC is allowed after receiving a permit from the Jihad Agriculture Organization of the province. This plant is different from hemp used to produce drugs and due to the small amount of THC, its main use is in the pharmaceutical and industrial fields.

In a conversation with Ambassador Arjan, Faramarez Tahanani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Syndicate of Pharmaceutical, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Packaging Manufacturers, says that substances extracted from industrial hemp, including CBD and THC, are used in the production of some drugs used for patients with MS and neurological diseases. According to him, currently some of these raw materials are imported from abroad and the development of domestic cultivation can meet the needs of the pharmaceutical industry.

Other products of this plant include fibers used in textile, automotive and construction industries, and oil from its seeds. Also, contrary to some claims made in cyberspace, industrial hemp is different from hemp, and these two belong to separate families from the botanical point of view.

Iranian anemone; An alternative to importing raw materials

Providing raw materials for painkillers and addiction treatment is also one of the reasons for paying attention to the cultivation of special species of anemones. According to the statement of the anti-narcotics headquarters, the cultivation of Iranian anemones is allowed under control. According to the inventor, this plant is the well-known wild anemone and is different from the species used to produce opium.
