Challenges of Kan Gardens Examined at Tehran City Council Session

During the 438th session of the Tehran City Council, the latest draft of the council's Urban Planning and Architecture Commission on the participatory and coordination committee for addressing challenges facing gardens in District 5 was reviewed.

According to Ambassador Arjan, at the same time as the 438th meeting of the Islamic Council of Tehran, the latest version of the plan of the Urban Planning and Architecture Commission of the Council was reviewed on the subject of the collaborative and coordination committee for dealing with the challenges of gardens in the fifth region.

Mehdi Abbasi, head of the Urban Planning and Architecture Commission of Tehran City Council, said in this meeting: We started this project from Ken Gardens, and if it was a successful experience, it will be repeated in the contiguous areas of Tehran city.

He also clarified: Last year, due to the importance of Ken Gardens, we had predicted 60 to 70 billion Tomans credits for water resources, but it was not clear how it should be spent for that area.

Stating that watershed management, which should be carried out by various institutions, has not been completed due to the lack of resources and prioritization in the missions, Abbasi said: the municipality of the region has decided to solve the water problem of the gardens, and for that, it needs dredging. Therefore, we need coordination between devices.

Emphasizing that we should think about the drying of the trees in Ken, he clarified: People are struggling with us in this regard and I have begged many times to give these gardens. We don't want Ken to suffer the fate of Chitgar. If you have another plan, provide it. We check.

Mohammad Reza Puriafer, the mayor of Tehran's Panj district, while praising the council for paying attention to Ken's gardens, said: "These gardens are private, and according to the law, the municipality's duty is not to enter into this matter and provide water and fertilizer for it, but we took action because of our humanitarian duty and to preserve the green space." In this regard, we took action to build reservoirs.

He added: Irrigation of the green space and providing the infrastructure of this sector is one of the issues that we paid attention to in order not to face problems. Another problem was the explosion of the Shahran oil warehouse and the flow of oil in the roads towards Baghat, when the Oil Research Institute entered this field and good things have happened in this field.

By stating that the aqueducts of Ken are owned and used in the neighborhood, Poriafer clarified: We can consider the budget for the municipality to take action to irrigate the entire gardens, but the point is that the municipality should not intervene in an issue that is not its duty, and with this action, farmers should not complain that their garden did not receive water or fertilizer.

The mayor of the fifth region announced that the conditions should not be such that the agricultural jihad says that this action has nothing to do with the municipality, and reminded: There should not be a feeling that we have to form a committee to solve any problem, which affects the manager's executive power.

Stating that a lot of money is transferred in the Article Seven Commission and it should be taken into account, he pointed out that under the supervision of the Director of the Green Space Department, an Article Seven Director and an Irrigation Director should be provided.

Ahmad Sadeghi stated that one should cry for the state of the gardens and that there is reason to be sad, and said: One should think about these gardens and it is a valid concern. It is possible to enrich the design and change its title to preserve its green space.

Mehdi Chamran, the head of Tehran city council, also emphasized: a higher group should be formed to determine the task of an issue. Agricultural Jihad can not be present, but it must be sensitive enough to be present to solve the problems of Ken's gardens and to preserve these gardens.

He continued: The duties of this committee should be defined and the issues should be clear, and its basis should be the preservation of gardens.
