Brad Caleb Kane is ready to give fans a new version of Pennywise as he flies solo to take control of Season 2 of It: Welcome to Derry.

The showrunner teased to Deadline that the killer clown (played by Bill Skarsgård) will be portrayed in a way that "you've never seen the character before" and that season 2 will be "bigger" than season 1.

"We're writing the scripts. We're about halfway through the scripts," Kane said. "We have a production plan, we have the green light for season 2, and Andy Muschitti is casting."

Set in the midst of the Great Depression in 1935, Season 2 revolves around the bloody massacre of the Bradley Gang, a group of bank robbers who stop at a door to buy ammunition and end up facing unimaginable horror, another piece of the city's morbid history depicted in King's 1986 novel. Kane added: "I don't think it's a big secret. I think there is a little bit, but it's a Warner Bros. gangster movie. It's bank robbers and Hoovervilles and street urchins riding rails. It's religious fundamentalism. And it's a different kind of Pennywise. We're making it, and it's going to be a big challenge because it's a bigger season than Season 1. It is, but we'll see what happens."

With Season 1 airing in 1962, each season of It: Welcome to Derry jumps back another 27 years to coincide with Pennywise's appearance in the town created by Stephen King.

After 6.5 million US users tuned in for Season 1 in its first three days of airing, It: Welcome to Derry was renewed for Season 2 in August, with Kane taking over sole hosting duties from Season 1 partner Jason Fuchs.

Meanwhile, Peacock Kane's horror prequel series Crystal Lake is now available to stream and tells the original story of Friday the 13th killer Jason Voorhees and Pam's mother.
