ITV's Secret Garden producer Stuidos has appointed director, producer and cinematographer Nathan Small as creative director, natural history and children and family. Small has been promoted after earning credits on shows such as Apple TV+'s Tiny World, National Geographic and Disney+'s A Real.

Small has been promoted after credits on shows such as Apple TV+'s Tiny World, National Geographic and Disney+'s A Real Bug's Life, Netflix's Nightmares of Nature and ITV's World's Wildest Cities.

In his new role, Small will work in Plymsoll Natural History and Children and Families, reporting to Mark Brownlow, Head of Natural History. Watch Breaking News Plimsoll Studios execs promote Andre Jackson to oversee talent.

"Nathan is an exceptional filmmaker with a truly distinctive creative voice," said Brownlow. "He has an extraordinary ability to create a fresh, cinematic and surprising sense of natural history, and his work constantly finds new ways to engage the audience."

After A Real Bug's Life, he directed Nature Nightmares and most recently directed ITV's Wildest Cities in the World.

"The company has an extraordinary appetite for ambitious and innovative storytelling, and I look forward to working with our talented teams to find new ways to tell stories about the natural world that engage, entertain and connect with audiences," he said.

The appointment comes after Plimsoll launched Skyscraper Live for Netflix this year, Secret Garden for the BBC and Pompeii: Out of Time for Disney+. Earlier this summer, we debuted the new Plimsoll, which rebranded from Plimsoll Productions to Plimsoll Studio and organized operations around five creative divisions: Natural History & Adventure, Live, Entertainment, Kids & Family, and Digital.
