Gazprom is aware of Azerbaijan's interest in resuming the purchase of Russian gas - CEO

Elshad Nasirov, the deputy of SOCAR, had previously announced that Baku wants to resume the import of Russian gas.

Moscow, October 16. /TASS/. Alexey Miller, CEO of Gazprom, told reporters on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week that Gazprom is aware of Azerbaijan's interest in resuming the purchase of Russian gas.

In response to the question whether he is aware that Azerbaijan wants to buy gas from Gazprom again, Miller said: Yes, we know.

Earlier, Elshad Nasirov, the vice president of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), announced that Baku wants to resume the import of Russian gas from Gazprom. However, he noted that details about the volumes that Azerbaijan wants to buy are not yet available.
