Sean "Diddy" Combs was transferred to a new prison after the smuggling scandal
The rapper, who is serving 50 months for violating the Mann Act, will land in a low-security facility in Pennsylvania after being banned for "disruptive behavior."
Incarcerated rap mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs has been transferred from federal prison after a report suggested he was carrying contraband while serving his 50-month sentence to help him lead a lavish lifestyle.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter on Friday that the agency is moving Combs, 56, from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low. His new federal lockup is a low-security facility south of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, about 110 miles northwest of Allentown.

The agency said: "We can confirm that Sean Combs was transferred to FCI Allenwood Low on Friday, October 16, 2026. For reasons of privacy, safety and security, we do not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual in custody, including the reasons for the transfer."
The news came after Combs suffered a head injury and was taken from jail to a local hospital Saturday night. According to a report from TMZ, the fallen hip-hop icon left the facility around 1 a.m. and was back behind bars before 7 a.m. Sources told this media that he was conscious and talking to people during the incident.
Combs had been placed in the prison's special housing unit before his injury and brief departure from Fort Dix. He was removed from the general population of the prison after a report by Dateline revealed that he kept his lifestyle inside the facility to himself. It involved adding money to the commissary accounts of a group of inmates who, in exchange for money, would cover the former rapper's household chores, including making the rapper's bed, cleaning the toilet and shower, giving him massages and making sure he had better food than the rest of the inmates.
NBC News reported that Combs used a smuggled, jailbroken tablet with Instagram installed to communicate with the outside world and add money to the commissary accounts of his crew of personal assistants.
Fort Dix officials sanctioned Combs for "disruptive behavior" and forfeited 41 days of good behavior time he earned during his first year at the facility.
Speaking about Friday's transfer, Combs' personal spokesman, Judah Engelmeier, said he hoped the rapper would change facilities for the remainder of his sentence.
After an extensive trial in the summer of 2025, Combs was convicted of two counts of transportation for the purpose of prostitution and acquitted of the more serious charges of conspiracy and sex trafficking. After a court hearing in October, he was sentenced to 50 months in prison. He and his lawyers are awaiting a decision on their appeal.
