Spectacular and Admirable / Stunned by Yamal: Everyone Is Left Speechless
The dazzling brilliance of Lamine Yamal has led both fans and critics of this young player to praise him.
According to "Verzeh Se", six chances created, five shots, four crosses and most importantly, 17 dribbles, statistics that confirm that he plays the way he wants. Yamal, who is now the undisputed leader of Barça, put on the captain's armband at the end of the match and after his father left due to discomfort, and within 10 minutes, he changed the course of the game between Galatasaray and Barça in Istanbul.
Very few players have the ability to change the course of a match. Only those who determine the outcome of the games are able to do such a thing. Lamine did the same in the first 10 minutes of the second half. As soon as he returned from the dressing room, he sent a spectacular pass to Gordon with the outside of his foot, which the English player just had to put into the goal. The goal looked certain but the former Newcastle player missed it.
Instead of being disappointed, Yamal sent a wonderful pass to Fermin so that he scored Barca's second goal with a header. Then, he created a move that only he could finish off to set up the third goal. Gordon owed him and Lamine didn't hesitate. He moved the ball as much as he wanted until Ademi's fourth goal arrived. Then he stopped, but there was a feeling that he was saving something for when the going got tougher.
Yamal, one of the serious contenders for the Ballon d'Or, still has unfinished business with the Champions League. The image of him left in the mind after Barca's elimination in the last two seasons against Inter and Atletico Madrid, at the Estadio Giuseppe Meazza and the Metropolitano, has remained in the minds, even though he performed superbly in both matches. "I won't stop until I bring it home again," he wrote after eliminating Barca in the 2024-25 season. Even Catalan radio station Rock One shouted: "Lamine Sami Yen!" when praising his performance against Galatasaray.
Lamine has surpassed himself in the 2026-27 season. He has recorded eight goals and nine assists, a statistic that does not include his brilliant performance during the international break with the national team. Since his disappointing appearance in Elche, the season opener and the 2-0 win over Athletic Bilbao, where he didn't directly influence the goals but showed signs of improvement, there hasn't been a game in which he hasn't contributed a goal or an assist.
He left his mark once again in Istanbul, another memorable venue he will return to in February for the Spanish Super Cup. A few weeks ago, Lamine said without compliments: "This year's goal is the European Champions League." It is clear that this season is not an ordinary year for Barca's number 10.
