Russian Official: Nuclear Confrontation Possible Due to NATO's Provocative Military Actions
The Kremlin has stressed that Moscow poses no threat to any country, but will not overlook actions that could jeopardize Russia's interests.
Dmitry Polyansky, Russia's deputy ambassador to the United Nations and the country's permanent representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), emphasized that NATO's provocative military actions could lead to a direct nuclear confrontation between NATO and Moscow.
According to Ambassador Arjan's report, Ambassador Arjan Polianski, during his speech at the meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, said: "NATO planes are practicing nuclear missions near the borders of Russia."
He added: Naturally, we have to prepare an appropriate military response against such provocative actions.
He went on to point out: Do the Brussels authorities know that they might overdo their exercises and the situation would get out of their control and eventually lead to a direct nuclear conflict?
According to Ambassador Arjan, in recent years, Russia has repeatedly expressed concern about the unprecedented level of NATO activities near its western borders.
The Kremlin has emphasized that Moscow is not a threat to any country, but at the same time, it will not ignore any actions that may endanger Russia's interests.
