Russia Ready to Remove Enriched Uranium from Iran

Georgy Borisenko noted that Russia has extensive experience working with spent fissile material.

Moscow, October 14. /TASS/. In an interview with RTVI, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko said: "Russia is ready, if necessary and upon request, to transfer enriched uranium from Iran to its soil or to help other countries that are willing to accept it."

"Certainly, if needed and the parties involved reach an agreement, we are ready to take this enriched uranium to our soil or help other countries willing to do so, because Russia has a lot of experience in dealing with spent fissile material," the diplomat said.

"As far as we know, IAEA experts lost access to Iran's nuclear facilities after the US-Israeli strikes in June 2025, partly because some of those facilities were simply destroyed by the strikes," Borisenko said.

He added that so far there has been no indication that Iranian partners have regained this access.

This high-ranking Russian diplomat said: What we have heard so far is that the United States still insists on removing all enriched uranium from Iran's soil.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs said: Even before America and Israel invaded Iran, Russia offered to transfer enriched uranium to the territory of Russia or some other countries, other countries also made similar offers, and naturally we do not claim that Russia is the only available destination. "Our offer is still on the table."
