Most people wait until Halloween to stuff themselves with candy. But a black bear in Alaska decided October 12 was close enough.
And instead of going from house to house like a civilized trickster, this man just helped himself to whatever he could find.
The unexpected visitor showed up at a hospital at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson near Anchorage, Alaska, around 2 a.m. Monday. The bear passed through the hospital's emergency department before discovering a bucket of donated Halloween candy and began eating the food, Alaska News Source reported.
A woman named Sherry Warnock - who was leaving the hospital after visiting her mother - spotted the massive animal 30 feet away in a dimly lit hallway. To make matters even scarier, Warnock didn't have a hospital badge, meaning all the corridor doors were locked on him.
So there he was, trapped in a hallway with a hungry black bear.
Warnek backed away slowly, hoping the bear hadn't noticed him. Luckily, that's when our furry friend discovered the candy bin and apparently decided that chocolate is better than humans.
Finally, an announcement over the hospital's intercom alerted everyone that there was a bear in the building, but that didn't stop some doctors from coming out to take pictures.

Warnock got out safely, and the bear reportedly got out through the same entrance it used to get in. No one was injured
Hospital staff later showed Warnock a surveillance photo of the bear standing in the emergency department lobby, where they joked it looked like he was being checked out.
Of course, as the winter season approaches, the bears are gathering their weight before hibernation. Most bears are out there catching salmon, digging through garbage cans, and looking for berries. But this man found out where they keep the good stuff.
At least she could wear a dress.
