Bushehr Free Zone Temporary Transit Plate to Be Unveiled; Two-Year Vehicle Travel Details Announced

The head of Iran's Traffic Police (FARAJA) announced the unveiling of the Bushehr Free Zone plate and said vehicles with free zone temporary transit plates, under specified conditions, will be permitted to travel for two years, with the permit renewable up to five times.

According to the report of Ambassador Arjan Bushehr, during his visit to Bushehr province, Sergeant Seyedtimur Hosseini said: One of the goals of this trip is to unveil the license plate of Bushehr Free Zone so that the people of the province can benefit from the special benefits and privileges of Free Zones.

Referring to the special laws and regulations of free zones, he added: Part of the activities of these zones is related to car numbering, and since last year, the traffic police has put the development of numbering facilities in the country's free zones on the agenda.

The head of Rahor Faraja Police continued: In this regard, by using the government's decree regarding the license to import vehicles less than five years old, the implementation of the numbering scheme in free zones has been started and has reached the implementation stage in many of these zones.

Hosseini, referring to the design of temporary license plates of free zones to increase the numbering capacity of cars, said: Cars with this license plate are allowed to travel for two years, and the possibility of extending this period up to five periods is also foreseen.

Implementation of an intelligent system for identifying critical speeds

In another part of his speech, the Chief of Traffic Police, Rahor Faraja, mentioned the trial implementation of the intelligent critical speed detection system and said: The trial activity of this system started about two weeks ago in some main axes of the country, including the Tehran-Qom axis.

According to him, this system was then developed in the direction of Tehran-Saveh and Hamedan, as well as the Isfahan-Qom axis towards Kashan and Isfahan.

Hosseini explained: The intelligent critical speed detection system detects cars that move at a speed of more than 40 to 50 km above the permissible speed of the axis. The information of these cars along with their images are sent to the operational teams located along the route and within a radius of about 30 kilometers.

He added: By using this system, the performance of operational teams can also be monitored, and the officers' actions, including car stopping, law enforcement, and hourly seizure, are investigated.

Referring to the initial results of the implementation of the project, the head of the Rahor Faraja Police said: Since the system was launched, a significant number of vehicles with critical speed have been detected. Also, a number of stolen cars or cars with judicial orders, impound orders or complaints have also been identified and stopped by police officers.

Hosseini emphasized: In addition to increasing deterrence against speeding violations, this system can be an efficient tool for identifying and dealing with offending vehicles in provinces that are facing the so-called shooting phenomenon.
