Paris Saint-Germain's Luis Enrique says that, despite the accusations, Man City deserves to keep its trophies.
Enrique, Guardiola's friend and Man City's former head coach, hopes the club can avoid losing its titles due to the sanctions.
Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique says Manchester City deserved to win their trophies and should be allowed to keep them, despite the English club facing a ban after being accused of breaching Premier League financial rules.
Asked about the ruling ahead of PSG's Champions League game against City on Tuesday, Enrique said the process must be respected and the final decision awaited.
Amid speculation that the titles won during this period could be lost, the Spanish coach said: "The authorities are responsible for the decisions, those are the decisions and we have to wait, but if I only talk about the football and what I saw on the pitch, Man City deserve those trophies.

The English Premier League said City used "royal" commercial deals as part of plans to boost revenue and cut costs by more than 900 million pounds ($1.19 billion).
City, who have denied wrongdoing throughout the case and have appealed the ruling, could face penalties ranging from fines and points deductions to relegation and possibly being stripped of their title.
I like the way they play and then you have to wait for the final decision and nothing else. I hope they can avoid this sanction."
Former City manager Pep Guardiola, who left the club in May, is set to return to the Etihad against Paris Saint-Germain.
Enrique is a close friend and former Barcelona teammate of Guardiola.
Enzo Maresca has had a flawless start to the daunting task of succeeding Guardiola so far.
The Italian has won all eight of his games in all competitions, but Enrique dismissed the suggestion that Wednesday's game was an opportunity for both sides to register an early marker.
"January is when you can really see the level of the team," he added. "Five or six months later, it's very different. A lot of teams change.
"But at this point it's an interesting race and it's fun to watch."
