Valve told The Verge in late 2025 that it will no longer produce the Valve Index wired VR headset. The company is now going through the last of its shares and is selling what is left by 20%. The headset itself is $399.20, down from $499, replacement left controllers are $119.20 ($149), and replacement tether cables are $103.20, down from $129. The headset requires a base station (also known as a beacon) for tracking, and unfortunately they are no longer available through Valve. You'll have to go to eBay or Craigslist to get one. Read our review of the 2019 headset.

It's still a lot of fun to team up with a friend to take on its campaign, even if the gameplay is rather shallow. Read our review.
