Referring to the passage of enemy military equipment through the Strait of Hormuz in the past years, the adviser to the Commander in Chief said: "Managing and limiting traffic in this waterway is the strategic task of the armed forces."

According to the report of Ambassador Arjan, Major General Seyed Yahya Safavi, Assistant and Senior Advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Supreme Forces, explained the approach of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the scientific-specialist meeting "Effective Geographical Requirements in the Defense Strategy of the Strait of Hormuz", and stated: The Strait of Hormuz is an inseparable part of our territorial waters; Our sovereignty and management over this region is not a political claim, but an indisputable legal and geographical right.

Major General Safavi added: Iran does not seek to create tension; But he is also powerful in exercising his right to sovereignty. When this waterway becomes a platform for the passage of military equipment that directly targets Iran's national security, managing and limiting traffic is not only the right, but also the strategic duty of our armed forces.

Strait of Hormuz; The universal artery that has no alternative

He rejected the hypothesis of the decline of the importance of the Strait of Hormuz due to the construction of pipelines or alternative routes and stated: The Strait of Hormuz is a strategic bottleneck in the global energy network and despite all efforts to create parallel routes, the world's dependence on this passage is a structural dependence.

The Supreme Advisor to the Commander in Chief continued: The importance of this strait in today's volatile world market is even more than in the past. Because more than 20% of the world's oil and energy flow still revolves around this bottleneck.

Distinguishing between "closing the strait" and "strait management", Major General Safavi noted: Our main strategy is the intelligent management of the Strait of Hormuz in the face of the American naval blockade against our beloved country and people.

The head of Martyr Hajj Qassem Soleimani Research Institute of Sacred Defense Sciences and Education pointed out: The management of this strait is the transformation of this bottleneck to remove maritime sanctions and a path to achieve sustainable peace and security in the region with the participation of the countries of the region.

Emphasizing that the Strait of Hormuz is an integral part of Iran's territorial waters, he said: "Our main strategy is the intelligent management of the Strait of Hormuz in the face of the American naval blockade against our country and our beloved people."

The scientific-specialist meeting "Effective geographical requirements in the defense strategy of the Strait of Hormuz" was held by the strategic geography research group of the Holy Defense Research Institute of the Research Institute and was attended by a group of defense, legal and geopolitical elites.
