Kermanshah - The governor of Kermanshah, emphasizing the need to closely monitor the quality of food, considered the development of the whole bread project as a step in the direction of reforming the nutrition pattern and improving public health.
According to Mehr reporter, on Friday afternoon at the World Food Day conference held in Kermanshah Electricity Hall, Manouchehr Habibi said, referring to the importance of food safety: Protecting people's health requires transparency in information and serious dealing with violations that can endanger the health of society.
Stating that the facts should not be hidden in the health issue, he added: The regulatory bodies must perform their duties carefully and without exception and react appropriately to any violation in the food production and supply chain that threatens people's health.
The Governor of Kermanshah considered food beyond a daily need and stated: People's food is connected with their culture, history, identity and way of life. The native foods of each region are also considered part of its cultural heritage, and in Kermanshah, the diversity of traditional foods and table manners is one of the identity manifestations of this province.
Emphasizing that food safety should be considered from the initial stages of production to the time of consumption, Habibi said: The quality of primary products, bread and other household items should be continuously checked. In this regard, correcting eating habits and providing people with access to healthy food requires serious follow-up by the responsible agencies.
He named bread as one of the main items on the table of households and added: besides the role of food, bread is also directly related to the livelihood of families. Therefore, the implementation of the whole bread plan can help to improve the nutrition pattern, and it is necessary for the executive, regulatory and media to cooperate more to expand it.
The governor of Kermanshah, referring to the follow-up of this plan in the province for the past one year, said: "The initial steps have been taken to implement the plan and the work path has been formed, but the process of its development should be accelerated and the possibility of people's access to whole bread should be increased."
Habibi considered one of the initial steps of implementing the plan to be consultation with flour factories to change the production process and supply the flour needed by the bakeries and said: changing the usual production methods in these units was accompanied by difficulties, but a number of producers declared their readiness to cooperate in this field and implementation measures began.
Referring to the experience of some flour factories in setting up a bakery in his collection, he added: In a number of these units, the bread produced is provided to the employees, and surveys show that the product quality of some of these bakeries is close to the expected standards for whole bread. This experience can provide the basis for using the capacity of producers to develop the plan.
The governor of Kermanshah emphasized on the continuation of the production of wholemeal flour and the regular supply of the needs of bakeries and said: flour factories should continue this process seriously and related devices should provide the necessary conditions for sustainable production and supply of wholemeal bread with appropriate quality.
Referring to the possibility of resistance to the change of traditional bread baking methods, Habibi pointed out: the implementation of this plan requires training, culturalization and accompanying bakers so that the change of common baking methods can be done with more awareness and preparation.
He emphasized on the continuation of training courses for bakers in the General Directorate of Technical and Vocational Education of the province and added: The training of the skills needed to prepare and bake whole bread should be continued so that bakers can produce this product with the correct method and the desired quality.
The governor of Kermanshah also considered it necessary to support active bakeries in the field of wholemeal bread production and said: the provision of economic and executive incentives can help to continue the activity of these units. The governors, the grain company and other related institutions should also cooperate to provide a wider production and supply of whole bread.
