Nvidia's New Feature Dramatically Boosts Game Frame Rates
Nvidia unveiled a new performance mode for frame generation technology on RTX 40 and RTX 50 series graphics processors. The new mode can boost the performance of these cards by up to 35.
Nvidia has unveiled a new performance mode for frame generation in the RTX 40 and RTX 50 series GPUs.
Nvidia has introduced a new mode for frame generation technology that can increase the performance of RTX 40 and RTX 50 series graphics cards by 35%. This feature, known as Preset C, is currently available on a trial basis through the Nvidia App, and in exchange for improved performance, it brings a slight reduction in image quality.
Upscaling technology has now become an essential feature in many modern games. Nvidia's DLSS technology still has a prominent position in terms of image quality compared to competing technologies; Of course, this company is still trying to improve the performance of its frame production technology by developing new models.
Nvidia has recently introduced a new frame generation mode in which the optical flow-based artificial intelligence model is replaced with a new algorithm. This feature, named Preset C, can increase the performance of RTX 40 and RTX 50 series graphics cards by 35%.
At first, the frame generation technology seemed more like a display feature that caused a significant delay in the execution of games by adding artificial frames. Over time, this technology has improved significantly and now it has reached a level where we can use it to create an acceptable experience in games.
Nvidia recently unveiled the new Preset C mode and said that this feature can improve the performance of the RTX 5060 graphics card by 35%. Based on the available information, when using the triple frame production mode, the frame rate increases from 120 to 132 fps. In the mode of producing six times the frame, this figure has reached from 255 to 348 frames per second. This feature is known as Frame Generation Performance, and the previous mode, which is still available to users, will be called Frame Generation Quality from now on. Nvidia announced that the new mode puts less pressure on the system and, on the other hand, brings only a slight decrease in image quality. Therefore, users can get a higher frame rate by selecting the Performance mode; Of course, the impact of this change on the visual quality of games still needs further investigation.
The new frame generation mode is currently released as a beta version. To access it, users can refer to the Settings section of the Nvidia App. Despite the promising results announced by Nvidia, more independent testing is necessary to determine how much this feature can affect performance under different conditions and when running different games.
