Russia's GDP growth in 2026 will decrease slightly compared to last year - Deputy Governor of the Central Bank

Alexey Zabotkin attributed the cold growth to the fact that the domestic economy remains at full employment for the third consecutive year, as well as the correction of macroeconomic parameters in the government's socio-economic development forecast.

Moscow, October 13. /TASS/. Russia's annual gross domestic product growth will slow slightly overall compared to last year's figures due to long-term restrictions on full employment, Bank of Russia Deputy Governor Alexei Zabotkin said on Tuesday.

Zabotkin said at the working group meeting about the country's monetary policy draft guidelines: "We are currently seeing the impact of the policy decisions taken 12 to 18 months ago, which are reflected in the dynamics of credit and demand. At the same time, the annual GDP growth will be slightly lower than last year for two main reasons."

The head of the central bank considered the reason for this economic growth to be the domestic economy remaining at full employment for the third consecutive year, as well as the revision of macroeconomic parameters in the government's socio-economic development forecast.
