Following the publication of news about the increase in mobile internet tariffs in some media, Ambassador Arjan's reporter contacted the public relations of Irancell, Rightel, and Haram-e-Awl to check the validity of this issue.

According to Ambassador Arjan, while expressing surprise at the 40% figure, the operators announced that their request was for a 100% increase in tariffs and that the figure is not proportionate to the significant growth in the costs of equipment supply, infrastructure renovation and network maintenance.

According to them, war conditions, damage to communication sites, exchange rate fluctuations, increase in operating costs and restrictions due to sanctions are among the things that have exponentially increased the costs of developing and maintaining stable communications.

According to all three operators, their incomes are Rials, while an important part of network development costs depends on the exchange rate, and the continuation of this gap between costs and revenues has made it difficult to provide the necessary resources to develop the network capacity and improve the quality of services, in a situation where Internet consumption and the need for communication infrastructure increases over time.

In response to Ambassador Arjan's question, the three mobile operators of the country emphasized that the reform of tariffs is done only within the framework of legal regulations and permits, at the same time, maintaining the quality of services and stability of communication for the people is still one of the main priorities of the operators.
