Carvajal Finds a Club; Official: Real Madrid's Most Decorated Player Joins Getafe
Dani Carvajal has joined Getafe on an official contract through 2027.
According to "Verzeh Se", Getafe issued an important statement during the break of the national games. This club reached an agreement with Carvajal and hired the services of this player for free. Carvajal agreed to the offer after receiving a call from Jose Bordalas, the head coach of the team. This former Real Madrid captain has signed a one-year contract with Getafe.
The Madrid-born right-back arrives at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez after leaving Real Madrid last summer to strengthen the right side of the defence, where he will compete with Kiko Feminia and move Andres Garcia into a more attacking position. There is also a possibility that the head coach of Getafe will send Carvajal to the right central defender position in the three-man defense system.
Carvajal will take a significant pay cut to play for Getafe. In Real Madrid, he received about 10 million euros net per year, which may now be reduced to a tenth. Bordalas' phone call played a key role in convincing the Leganes player, who has been without a team since June 30, to continue his career without having to leave his home in Madrid.
According to Bordalas, the presence of Carvajal will be a significant boost both on the pitch and in the dressing room thanks to his extensive experience. The competitive spirit and leadership abilities of this player explain the reason why the head coach from Alicante is interested in recruiting him.
With the recruitment of Carvajal, the most proud player in the history of Real Madrid becomes the most important purchase in the history of Getafe. He won 27 championships in 451 games for this club: six European Champions League championships, six Club World Cup championships, five European Super Cup championships, four La Liga championships, two Spanish FA Cup championships and four Spanish Super Cup championships.
In addition, Carvajal has also won international titles with the Spanish national team, he won the European Cup in 2024 and the UEFA Nations League in 2023 in his 51 caps.
