Pakistan calls for restraint from US and Iran
Pakistan's President, meeting with Russia's Minister of Interior, called on the United States and Iran to exercise restraint, honor their commitments under the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, and resolve disputes through dialogue and diplomacy.
In a meeting with the Russian Interior Minister, the President of Pakistan demanded restraint from the US and Iran, fulfilling the obligations of the parties in the framework of the Islamabad Memorandum and resolving the differences through dialogue and diplomacy.
Asif Ali Zardari, the President of Pakistan on Wednesday asked the US and Iran to exercise restraint and adhere to their commitments under the "Islamabad Memorandum" reached last June, according to Ambassador Arjan's report.
According to the statement issued by the office of the President of Pakistan, this request was made at the same time as Asif Ali Zardari met with Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev in the capital of this country (Islamabad).
During this meeting, Zardari called on Washington and Tehran to exercise self-restraint to resolve conflicts in West Asia, fulfill their commitments in the framework of the Islamabad Memorandum and resolve differences through dialogue and diplomacy.
He emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea, as well as the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries.
It should be noted that on June 17, Washington and Tehran signed the "Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding" which emphasized the cessation of military operations and the initiation of necessary preparations to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to shipping. After that, and before the resumption of the conflicts last July, the implementation of this agreement was stopped due to numerous obstructions by the United States.
